چکیده

Many optimization problems in electrical engineering consider a large number of design parameters. A sensitivity analysis identifies the parameters with strongest influence on problem interest. This paper introduces adjoint variable method as an efficient approach to study sensitivities nonlinear electroquasistatic time domain. In contrast more common direct method, has computational cost nearly independent The is applied field grading material performance 320 kV cable joint specimen, which modeled Finite Element transient problem. Special attention paid treatment quantities interest, are evaluated at specific points or space. It shown that valuable tool this strongly and highly technical example.

A Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Mixed-Variable Nonlinear Problems

Many engineering design problems involve a combination of both continuous anddiscrete variables. However, the number of studies scarcely exceeds a few on mixed-variableproblems. In this research Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is employed to solve mixedvariablenonlinear problems. PSO is an efficient method of dealing with nonlinear and non-convexoptimization problems. In this paper,...

Variable Mesh Finite Difference Method for Self-adjoint Singularly Perturbed Two-point Boundary Value Problems

A numerical method based on finite difference method with variable mesh is given for self-adjoint singularly perturbed two-point boundary value problems. To obtain parameteruniform convergence, a variable mesh is constructed, which is dense in the boundary layer region and coarse in the outer region. The uniform convergence analysis of the method is discussed. The original problem is reduced to...

Design Optimization for Structural-Acoustic Problems Using FEA-BEA With Adjoint Variable Method

A noise-vibration-harshness (NVH) design optimization of a complex vehicle structure is presented using finite element and boundary element analyses. The steady-state dynamic behavior of the vehicle is calculated from the frequency response finite element analysis, while the sound pressure level within the acoustic cavity is calculated from the boundary element analysis. A reverse solution proc...

The Adjoint Variable Method for the Sensitivity Analysis of Multibody

Extended Abstract The multibody system approach is widely used for analyzing the dynamic behavior of mechanical systems with large motions, and several programs are available for this task 1]. But there is still a lack of tools for synthesizing nonlinear dynamic systems systematically. This synthesis requires an optimal choice of the system parameters with respect to a given performance measure...
